British Wool
Our Quirky collection of patterned carpets are made in Britain from British Wool.
They have been certified by British Wool and we are proud to support and promote British farmers, the British wool industry and of course, British sheep. We have also sponsored student design competitions with British Wool; nurturing up and coming design talent, while raising awareness of the benefits of British wool.
Ecologi
Ultimately, we care about treading lightly and we are striving to become a climate positive workforce.
Through our pledge with Ecologi we are involved in very worthwhile, well managed projects which help the planet. Some of these projects are in countries where some of our plant fibre materials are sourced. We are therefore actively giving back to these countries. However, we don't just support these projects by off-setting carbon emissions per Alternative employee, we also plant a tree in our burgeoning Alternative Forest for every online sample order we receive.
The Campaign for Wool
With their ethos being Make a difference, Choose Wool, how could we not support The Campaign for Wool?
Every year we are keen to participate in Wool Week, celebrating all things wool. We have also worked alongside The Campaign for Wool, sponsoring student competitions to design and create stunning carpets from wool fibre; not only nurturing up and coming design talent, but also promoting the wonders of wool to the next generation.
British Institute of Interior Design
We are proud to be an industry partner with the British Institute of Interior Design (BIID).
The British Institute of Interior Design is the only professional institute for interior designers in the UK. Their growing membership represents both the commercial and residential sectors, from heritage to cutting edge. In addition to rigorous entry requirements which assess training, experience and professionalism, they require their members to continue their professional development throughout their career to ensure their continued expertise in design process, practice and regulatory matters.
Their mission, is committment to advancing professionalism, integrity and excellence in interior design.
WoolSafe
We are proud to be accredited with WoolSafe, and proud that our Natural Flooring Care Kit has been WoolSafe approved and bears their certification mark. WoolSafe is our preferred cleaning partner and give specialist advice on cleaning on all our products.
The WoolSafe Organisation is a cleaning industry service provider, devoted to promoting best practice in carpet and rug care through maintenance product evaluation and certification, education and training, and the promotion of professional cleaning and inspection services. Established in 1991, the WoolSafe Certification Mark is widely recognised in many parts of the world as the standard for excellence and safety of carpet care chemicals, both for professionals and consumers.
