Sustainability comes in many different forms. Our faux rugs are made from man-made materials, not brilliant for the planet we admit, but they can be trusted to last. Our sisal look-a-like rugs are hard wearing and easy to clean.

What are faux rugs?

When we say 'faux' we mean synthetic or man-made fibres.

Our practical, stylish faux rugs are expertly made to reproduce the natural look of our popular sisal and wool ranges. Our Faux collections are called Anywhere and PlushThe ultra-durable Anywhere rugs works equally well indoors and outdoors, and an also be used in commercial spaces. For a luxury look, our deep-pile Plush rugs make a stunning statement as a loose laid rug at home recreating that boutique, luxury hotel feel.

How long will faux rugs last?

When maintained properly your synthetic area rug is crafted to last. The typical lifespan could be anywhere between 5 to 10 years, so we encourage all our customers to look after their faux rugs, giving them the love and care they deserve.

Design your own made to measure faux rug

Our easy to use Make Me A Rug designer is ideal for creating your own made to measure synthetic rug for anywhere in your home.

Are faux rugs moth resistant?

Yes, being made from synthetic materials our faux rugs are moth resistant. Being super hardwearing and easy to clean, they are the ideal choice for both domestic and commercial interiors.

Can you put a faux rug outdoors?

One of the best features of our Anywhere synthetic rugs is that they can be used both indoors and outdoors. Our Anywhere range of easyclean sisal look-a-like rugs, are suitable for ALL areas as the name suggests, opening up possibilities everywhere. They look and feel just like sisal but can stand up to wear and tear like nothing else, making them a great addition to any home – not to mention hotels and offices too.

How to clean a faux rug

Our faux synthetic rugs are really easy to clean and maintain. To help extend the life of your beautiful synthetic fibre rug, we would recommend regular vacuuming, in order to maintain their appearance. We would suggest vacuuming daily in heavy traffic areas and at least 2 to 3 times a week for the rest of the home. As a general rule, use an upright brush assisted vacuum for cut pile finishes and a suction only vacuum cleaner on woven rugs and loop pile rugs.

Due to the nature of synthetic materials used, spots and spills are les inclined to stick around and can be a relatively easy problem to solve. WoolSafe, our cleaning partner, have a separate certification when it comes to cleaning products for synthetic area rugs called CleanSeal. Remember, act quickly to remove fresh spots and always pre-test any spotting agents on an inconspicuous area of rug first before treatment. If you’re feeling a little stuck, get in contact with the experts at WoolSafe and they’ll be more than happy to assist.
